Viewing notes
The harbor's other door, at the far end of the sand spit from the Duluth canal, used mostly by boats working the Superior side. It is our thinnest chokepoint: 941 crossings by 54 vessels in two years, about one a day, so an empty afternoon here is normal rather than a sign something broke. The public view is from Wisconsin Point. Our first attempt at this gate line was drawn over the Connors Point docks rather than the channel; the line was moved onto the observed traffic corridor before any of these numbers were published.
