The busiest chokepoint in the archive, 6,834 crossings by 148 vessels, counting salties bound for the Seaway, lower-lakes traders and river tankers. Direction labels here were calibrated against the same boats arriving at Port Huron rather than read off a map, because the river runs roughly east to west at the bridge and Windsor is south of Detroit. The Detroit Riverwalk and Belle Isle give the American view, the Windsor riverfront the Canadian one.
